Awamori Sake Brewery Tour

Kamura Shuzo offers awamori brewery tours, tastings, and a service where you can store your own aged awamori in the brewery’s underground cellar. Be sure to stop by and make your trip to Okinawa a memorable one.
The Kamura Shuzo awamori brewery tour is not a tour through glass, so you can enjoy the aroma of the moromi and the atmosphere of the factory with all five of your senses.
After the tour, you can sample several types of awamori and non-alcoholic citric acid beverage moromi vinegar, so you are sure to find a flavor you like.
We will guide you as a group of 1 to 15 people.

About Kamimura Shuzo

It was founded in 1882 by Morimasa Kamura in the Hata River area of Naha City, and was known as “Kamura’s Sake” when it didn’t have a label. It was later bottled and sold in jars under the brand names “Kamura”, “Morirei” and “Three Stars”, and was drunk by people after the war as a soothing drink.
In 1958, we began researching awamori stored in oak barrels for the first time, and in 1968, we opened up a new frontier in the world of awamori by selling “Danryu”, an awamori aged in oak barrels. In 1999, we relocated our brewery to the foot of the lush Ishikawa Highlands in the central part of Okinawa Island in search of a better environment. At Kamura Shuzo, we will continue to strive to make delicious awamori that gives people dreams and peace of mind, while nurturing the skills and spirit that have been passed down to us.

1. Watch a video about awamori production (about 10 minutes)

2. Explanation while looking at the raw rice and equipment

3. Learning about delicious old sake

4. Keep your own awamori in the underground cellar (for a fee)

5. Try a variety of Awamori. Which is your favorite?

6.Why not take some of your favorite awamori home with you as a souvenir?

Approximately 40 minutes (20 minutes for the tour and 20 minutes for the tasting)
*There are three tours a day at 10:00, 14:00 and 15:30.

Tasting of two non-alcoholic citric acid beverages and awamori (6-7 types in total)
500 yen per adult (gift: Warm Current Cup 13 degrees 200ml or Warm Current coaster 2 pieces)
